Our office specializes in the treatment of orthodontic problems of children, teenagers, and adults. Orthodontic specialists are dentists who have received additional training to help diagnose and treat problems that arise when the teeth and/or the jaws are in an abnormal relationship. We treat problems as simple as thumb habits and space maintenance when baby teeth are lost early to complex surgical cases and the bite problems that arise from congenital defects such as cleft palates. The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child have an examination by an orthodontic specialist by the age of 7 to make sure any problems are diagnosed early and opportunities to limit the severity of later problems are not missed as the permanent teeth and jaws develop.

Even though most of our patients are children and teenagers, over a quarter of our patients are adults. In the absence of gum disease, we are able to safely move teeth at any age. Revolutionary changes in orthodontics over the last few years such as Invisalign and Damon braces have opened up many exciting opportunities for adults to pursue healthy, beautiful smiles.
